Youth Piano Concerto No. 2
Arranged for Two Pianos Peskanov wrote his Concerto No. 2 in memory of his grandmother, Esther. The music of the first movement paints vivid pictures of her life. The thematic material is based on Ukrainian folk music. The second movement is filled with gieving and deep sadness, as reflected in chant-like motifs. Dissonances amplify the deep emotions portrayed in this movement. The third movement is written in the style of the traditional Ukrainian dance - Hopak. This final music portrays Esther's fiery and dynamic personality. Composer: Alexander Peskanov
