Lu Ann's Waltz
Later Intermediate Level Lu Ann's Waltz was written by Peskanov for his wife to be. There is a Russian tradition that newlyweds dance to a waltz. In composer's imagination, Lu Ann's Waltz represents a long and happy marriage, the waltz that never ends. Toward the end of the piece, the happy couple finds a bench and continue watching their chidren, grandchildren dancing, while they are falling asleep. The music of the waltz is reminiscent of the works by Russian composers of late 19th Century, Liadov and Arensky. Beautiful long melodies over rich, lush harmonies, weaving and merging through intricate innervoicing. Author: Alexander Peskanov
